A Street Hawker

A street hawker is a person who sells various kinds of goods by hawking. He is generally seen on the streets of a city or town. Besides, he can be seen at bus stands, railway stations, steamers, and launch ghats. The things he generally sells are toys, bangles, ribbons, sweets, fruits, domestic articles, newspapers, and goods of our daily consumption like fish, eggs, fruits, and vegetables. He also sells things at a cheaper rate which is possible as he does not have to pay any rent  for a shop. He carries things sometimes on his head, sometimes in his hands, and sometimes in a small hand-cart. A street hawker is a clever fellow. He is very much interested in selling his goods to women and children, whom he can attract easily. A street hawker may be illiterate, but he knows the art of attracting buyers. He chooses an hour when the master of the family is away, and women are free from their household duties.In towns everywhere, we see hawkers. By hawking things, many people in our country earn their livelihood. However, a street hawker's income is not sufficient and he has to maintain his family through hardship.
